Talents for Ukraine by KSE Foundation supports people who turn professional expertise, ideas, and technology into practical solutions for Ukraine. This week’s winners include a developer of a VR solution for psychological stabilization and rehabilitation support, an AgTech entrepreneur working on technologies for agriculture, and a neurosurgeon advancing modern stroke care in Ukraine.
Viktor Samoilenko is a co-author of Luminify, a VR solution for psychological stabilization and rehabilitation support for veterans, internally displaced people, and others affected by the war. He has over 20 years of experience in IT and technology product development. At Luminify, he works to make VR an accessible and safe support tool for clinics, rehabilitation centers, and communities. Today, Luminify is used in more than 100 clinics and partner institutions across Ukraine, with support from Mercy Corps, GIZ, and Google.
“I see obstacles as additional motivation to find solutions,” Viktor notes.
Mariia Mashkovska is an AgTech entrepreneur, Chief Business Development Officer at HEFT, and CEO and Co-founder of GrainMole. She works on developing technology solutions for the agricultural sector, building B2B partnerships, and expanding products into international markets. At HEFT, Mariia is developing an AI-powered system for dairy farms that uses wearable sensors to collect data on cows’ activity, sleep, and feeding patterns, helping farmers detect fertility and health issues. She is also developing GrainMole, a technology designed to monitor grain conditions during storage.
“To me, home is where someone is waiting for you,” Mariia emphasizes.
Mykhailo Tonchev is a neurosurgeon and PhD in Medicine, Head of the Department of Neurosurgery and Interventional Radiology, including the Angiographic Operating Unit, at the M. V. Sklifosovskyi Poltava Regional Clinical Hospital. He is an expert of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine in Neurological and Neurosurgical Care and a Board Member of the Ukrainian Society of Stroke Medicine. In 2018, he initiated the establishment of Ukraine’s first simulation center for training physicians in the treatment and management of stroke patients. He is actively involved in advancing modern stroke care in Ukraine.
“To me, success means achieving the goal you have set for yourself,” Mykhailo comments.
