First Ukrainian International Bank (FUIB) has doubled its annual contribution to scholarship support for students at Kyiv School of Economics, bringing it to $200,000 — thanks to this support, 30 KSE University students will receive grants to fund their education and future careers. The decision was announced by Serhii Chernenko, Chairman of the Management Board of FUIB.
Investing in education is a systemic priority for the bank, which has been a strategic partner of KSE for nine years. Over that period, contributions from the partner have provided scholarships to roughly 100 high-scoring students on national testing — including children of military service members, veterans, and young people who lost their homes because of the war.
Serhii Chernenko, Chairman of the Management Board of FUIB, said:
“This year, despite the difficult situation, we decided to increase our support to $200,000 a year. I consider this one of our best investments. We see how KSE is growing, bringing people together, finding talented young people, and how the quality of its programs keeps improving. A talented student shouldn’t have to give up a quality education because of financial circumstances — especially today, when Ukraine cannot afford to lose young people with strong potential. By supporting their education, we’re investing in the specialists who will grow Ukrainian business and the economy.”
KSE University attracts applicants with strong results and solid academic preparation: this year the average competitive score for bachelor’s admissions was 174.4, and the average math score among admitted students reached 180.5 — the highest figure among Ukrainian universities. FUIB’s contribution removes the financial barrier for talented young people, allowing them to stay and build their future in Ukraine.
Svitlana Denysenko, Executive Director of KSE Foundation, said:

For a young person, a scholarship is a chance to get a quality education and realize their potential regardless of their family’s financial situation. The partnership with FUIB shows how this kind of investment pays off in the long run: 96% of last year’s KSE graduates stay in Ukraine and work toward its growth.”
Beyond financial support for students, the partnership also extends to developing KSE’s educational infrastructure. With FUIB’s backing, the university has built and maintains modern classrooms, spaces for individual and group work, relaxation areas, sleep pods, and game zones. The bank also consistently supports KSE Foundation initiatives focused on preserving and developing human capital and saving lives — from equipping school shelters to strengthening medical evacuation from frontline areas.
