Every time we open applications for the Talents For Ukraine grant programme, we are amazed at how different and exciting Ukrainians can be. And we are very sorry that we only have 150 opportunities to tell about the talents of our country. Today we are going to introduce you to three new winners.

⭐️ Kateryna Shavanova – has been involved in scientific research and science promotion for over 20 years. She has been involved in various research projects: from studying bacteria in Chornobyl to introducing innovations in agriculture. A special place in Kateryna’s activities is occupied by the dissemination of scientific knowledge about radiation and radiation safety among the civilian population.

‘Science is a very interesting way to live your life,’ says Kateryna.

⭐️ Artem Skorokhodko is a co-founder of the Behind Blue Eyes charity project. Artem and his team help children from Ukrainian villages who have survived the occupation to believe in their own talent, abilities, and childhood itself. Travelling to the de-occupied and frontline villages of Ukraine, the project team meets local children. Interested children are given disposable film cameras with which they document their daily lives in war-torn realities. The photographs are then published, raising money to make these children’s dreams come true.

‘Always listen to your heart to choose the right door on your journey. But remember that behind the door chosen by your heart there will be a pile of boxes that you will have to disassemble with your hands,’ Artem says.

⭐️ Oleksiy Molchanovskyi is the Director of Innovation at the Ukrainian Catholic University, founder of the Master’s programme in Computer Science at UCU, co-founder of the platform of free mass online courses Prometheus, and a lecturer. He is also the organiser of the TEDxKPI conference, as well as summer, winter, and spring computer science schools at UCU and KPI. He is the chairman of the expert advisory committee on the development of artificial intelligence in Ukraine
at the Ministry of Digital Transformation.

‘The best thing about my job is that there are no simple or easy solutions,’ says Oleksiy.
