Khan Academy for Ukraine

Education determines a society’s future. But for the third year Ukraine has been at war, leaving 1 in 4 children not able to go to school in person. The KSE Foundation is stepping up to translate free, world-class educational material from Khan Academy for every child in Ukraine.

Our mission is to make STEM education accessible and culturally relevant in Ukraine, creating a sustainable economic future for the country. Donate to help us translate Khan Academy and implement it for every student, teacher, and parent in Ukraine.

For the past two years, more than 5.3 million Ukrainian children have faced barriers to education, including school closures and power outages. According to PISA-2022, rural students lag behind their urban counterparts by 4.5 years in math.

What if instead of falling behind, kids got ahead? This collaboration between the KSE Foundation and Khan Academy will make it possible for Ukrainian students to study even in shelters during bombardments and air-raid alarms, with just a laptop or smartphone.

Our mission is to give every Ukrainian a free, world-class education through Khan Academy, making STEM education accessible and culturally relevant in Ukraine. We are working hard to ensure the quality and effectiveness of translating Khan Academy’s educational materials into Ukrainian. Our goal is to translate more than 5,000 videos and 8,000,000 words across math K-12, science, economics, and computer programming — and reach every student in Ukraine.

Khan Academy is an American non-profit organization that develops online educational content. The platform has 165 million registered users globally and has been used by one third of US students. It is trusted in 190 countries, already translated into 40+ languages, and supported by Google, Bill Gates, and major donors. In addition to helping students, Khan Academy is designed to support teachers in the classroom and let parents see their child’s progress at home.
