DA VINCI UKRAINE (DVU) Program – an initiative to enhance STEM education in Ukraine.

Our program is dedicated to developing essential skills of talented young people in mathematics, physics, and natural sciences while promoting the growth of the STEM Olympiad movement.

We aim to support organisations and programmes aligned to our priorities

  • Enhance STEM education for gifted students.
  • Strengthen and broaden the reach of the STEM Olympiad movement.
  • Develop innovative STEM programs.
  • Motivate Ukrainian students to excel in national and international STEM competitions.
  • Projects are likely to include, for example, enrichment and training programs/camps, curricula development, educator training, coaching and mentorship initiatives.
  • DVU supports organisations committed to expanding their impact and enhancing their sustainability. Our funding should support longer-term sustainability and we will provide capacity building support to organisations we work with.

Eligibility Criteria

Focus: Organisations and programmes supporting exceptionally talented young people in mathematics, physics, natural sciences, and the STEM Olympiad movement.

Geographical Coverage: Projects must either be physically based in Ukraine or be online initiatives that are targeted and accessible to Ukrainian students.

Beneficiaries are children up to 18 years old.

Organisations:

  • Non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and civil society initiatives legally registered in Ukraine.
  • Not operating in territories temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation in Ukraine as of the application submission date.
  • Do not engage in business activities or have subsidiaries in the territory of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus, or other countries on the sanctions list.

Key Investment Criteria

We will assess eligible proposals using the following criteria:

  • Target exceptional STEM talent, specifically top students up to 18 years old.
  • Aim to motivate and support Ukrainian students to excel in national and international Olympiad-level STEM competitions.
  • Potential to reach and benefit many students (50+) and/or to scale over the coming years.
  • Provide clear plans for maintaining or growing impact and enhancing sustainability beyond the grant period.
  • Present clear, achievable, and measurable goals which demonstrate potential for tangible results within the 6-24 month grant period.

Application Process

  1. Submit a comprehensive application package, including the application form, budget, and relevant registration documents.
  2. Applications will be reviewed based on the program’s objectives and selection criteria.
  3. Shortlisted applicants may be required to participate in interviews or presentations.
  4. Final decisions will be made based on the project’s potential impact, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
