Every week, the number of #TalentsForUkraine winners increases, which means that even more talents can develop thanks to grant support from the KSE Foundation! This week, it is a writer, a scientist, and a teacher.
⭐️ Anastasia Dmytruk is the author of such popular works as “We Will Never Be Brothers” and “For Kharkiv, Marik, Irpin”, as well as the book “Eyes of Mariupol”. It contains stories of Ukrainian defenders and reminds us of more than 1600 defenders of Mariupol who are still in captivity. The book was published in 2023 and translated into four foreign languages. Through the sale of autographed copies of the book at auctions, the company raised more than UAH 1 million to support Azov. Photo exhibitions based on the book have already been held in the United States, Canada, Italy, Austria, and Luxembourg.
“Look for a path where you will be most useful to your country. Your level of happiness and satisfaction from life depends on it,” Anastasia emphasizes.
⭐️ Ihor Balashov is a scientist who studies terrestrial mollusks (snails and slugs) and their importance for nature conservation, working at the Institute of Zoology in Kyiv. He has published nearly a hundred scientific papers in these areas, including 2 single monographs and a significant number of articles in top-rated international journals. He has described 9 species of land snails, both modern and fossil, that are new to science. He considers participation in the preparation of the next edition of the Red Data Book of Ukraine, for which he has prepared 42 species essays, to be an important area of his work.
“The most interesting thing about the profession of a scientist is learning new things, discovering things that no one had known before, expanding the knowledge of mankind, even if it is by a tiny fraction,” says Ihor.
⭐️ Bohdan Zavydovskyi went from a biotechnologist to a tutor, and later to a teacher who became a finalist in the TOP-10 of the Global Teacher Prize Ukraine 2021. Bohdan is also a co-author of the course “Learning during martial law” on the Diia.Osvita platform. The teacher and his colleagues began to expand the STEAM direction and popularize Project-based learning. He popularizes science on social media, helps children explore the practical side of science, trains winners of scientific competitions, and creates modern educational content. The teacher also mentors and supports other teachers.
“Everyday work gradually leads to results, sometimes even MEGA results,” Bohdan emphasizes.
