During the “Teachers of the Future” festival in Lviv, the winners of the Osvitoria.Media Award 2025 were announced — a recognition that, for the second year in a row, honors initiatives making a significant impact on Ukrainian education amid the full-scale war.
This year, the winner in the category “Education for Wellbeing” was the Khan Academy for Ukraine project — an initiative by KSE Foundation aimed at localizing a world-class free online educational platform. The project was recognized as the most impactful initiative for ensuring equal access to education, as well as for providing crucial educational and psychological support to children who are internally displaced, refugees, children of military personnel and volunteers, those living in de-occupied territories, and children with disabilities.
For over a year now, Khan Academy has been helping Ukrainian schoolchildren catch up on STEM subjects from anywhere in the country. The project currently offers 12 localized courses across subjects such as mathematics, chemistry, biology, and economics — totaling over 150 hours of educational video content.
The award was accepted on behalf of the team by Taras Pavlov, the coordinator of Khan Academy’s localization in Ukraine.

“Receiving the award is, without a doubt, an honor. And if it helps someone learn about the opportunity we’re offering or encourages them to try it — that’s already a great outcome. But what touched me the most was, right after stepping off the stage, a woman in the audience turned to me and said: ‘You’re amazing — my kid is studying on your platform.’ Because everything we do — we do for the children,”
– Taras Pavlov.
The Khan Academy for Ukraine project is implemented by KSE Foundation in collaboration with faculty and students of KSE University. Students from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, and Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute are also involved in the localization process.
Together, we’re building a future where knowledge is power and education is a foundation.
