We believe that real change begins with people. That’s why, for the third year in a row, the Talents For Ukraine program supports exactly such outstanding talents. This week’s winners are studying birds, working on cryogenic technologies, and developing apps for the early detection of cardiovascular diseases.
⭐️ Anna Markova – ethologist and ornithologist, PhD in Biological Sciences, and a specialist in aggressive behavior of forest birds. She conducts field observations, analyzes migration patterns, and studies interactions between birds. Anna works at the Ukrainian Bird Ringing Centre, which is part of EURING and is responsible for collecting and processing unique migration data. She is the author of scientific articles and a monograph that deepen the understanding of how birds interact with each other and with their environment. She loves discovering behavioral patterns in animals and sharing this passion with young researchers and the general public.
“There is meaning, beauty, and order in everything,” — emphasizes Anna.
⭐️ Bohdan Hrudka — PhD in Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, and Senior Research Fellow. Since 2017, he has been engaged in research and teaching in the field of cryogenic engineering and energy-efficient trigeneration systems. He is the author of over 50 scientific publications and a participant in international conferences and applied research projects aimed at improving the reliability and efficiency of small-scale power plants. Bohdan works on implementing cutting-edge technologies in energy engineering and developing small energy systems, actively exchanging experience with leading scientists worldwide.
“For me, success means that the results of your work are in demand and recognized,” — notes Bohdan.
⭐️ Veronika Konyk – a 15-year-old researcher, innovator, and leader, a 10th-grade student at a lyceum. Winner of the Global Fellow 2025 Paris Collaborative for creating transformational solutions to humanity’s most pressing challenges. Veronika is the author of research projects at the New York Academy of Sciences and the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. She developed HealthyHeart AI – an artificial intelligence–based platform for predicting cardiovascular diseases, accessible via smartphones worldwide. Veronika promotes science among youth and takes part in conferences and projects that foster innovation.
“My personal lifestyle is to be the main character of my own life and to say an incredibly loud “yes” to every challenge,” — says Veronika.
