Education inspires exploration. But how can we move beyond memorizing formulas and help students truly understand why chemistry, physics, or math matters? And how do we bring that kind of learning not only to students in big cities, but also to those in frontline regions or temporarily living abroad?
One of the winners of the #DaVinciUkraine grant program from the KSE Foundation — Lviv Open Lab — is taking on this challenge. Their new project is an ambitious STEM education program that will reach hundreds of students.
Thanks to support from the STEM Talent Fund, this year will bring:
-
The launch of a STEM Academy with four key tracks — chemistry, physics, biology, and mathematics — built on a two-tier model: a basic level open to all, and a PRO level for the most motivated students;
-
Access to both in-person classes in Lviv and online learning for students across Ukraine — including those in frontline areas, rural communities, and even those currently abroad;
-
Personalized support, mentorship, lab and tech company visits, and olympiad preparation.
Who will the program reach?
-
240 in-person participants
-
240 online participants
-
Of them, 50 students will complete an intensive track preparing for national and international STEM competitions
Today, STEM is the language the world uses to build the future. Thanks to this project by Lviv Open Lab, nearly 500 students will gain not only a deeper understanding of the hard sciences, but also a vision of STEM as a career, a calling, and a way to help shape Ukraine’s future.
They’ll also gain experience that prepares them for university, academic competitions, and real-life scientific work.
Lviv Open Lab already works with more than 18,000 participants each year. And now, with the Da Vinci Ukraine grant, they’re taking the next step toward accessible, inspiring, and hands-on STEM education — for everyone.
