After the offline Run for Freedom in Kyiv — which brought together nearly a thousand participants, including Professor and UNITED24 ambassador Timothy Snyder — the Run for Freedom initiative is expanding across Ukraine and the diaspora. Now anyone, regardless of their city or country of residence, can earn the Medal of Freedom and join the movement supporting the release of Ukrainian prisoners of war.

The online format was launched in response to numerous requests from Ukrainians who couldn’t attend the run in Kyiv. Now you can run wherever it’s convenient — in your city or town, on a stadium track, or even on a treadmill.

There are no distance limits: you can run 10, 5, or 1 kilometer — or 500 or even 50 meters. What matters is not the result, but the act of solidarity.

Every registered participant will receive the Medal of Freedom — a symbol of personal support for Ukrainian captives and a reminder to the world that all of them must return home.

How to Join the Run for Freedom Online:

❷ Pay the registration fee of 300 UAH (the KSE Foundation will direct the funds to support Ukraine’s Defense Forces)
❸ Provide your delivery details to receive the medal (a link to the form will be sent after registration)
❹ Run your chosen distance wherever it’s convenient
❺ Receive your medal and become part of the movement for Freedom

“This is a medal that cannot be bought — only earned through steps taken for the freedom of those who are currently in captivity. Running unites millions of people around the world. Run for Freedom is our way to turn it into a tool of solidarity. We’ve held this run for the second year in a row — initiated by students of the Kyiv School of Economics and Professor Timothy Snyder. Thanks to this year’s participants, we can already fulfill two military unit requests totaling about 700,000 UAH,” — comments Anastasiia Tyshchenko, Deputy Director of the KSE Foundation.

The purpose of Run for Freedom is to draw the attention of the international community to the urgent issue of releasing Ukrainian prisoners — both military and civilian. Every participant becomes part of the movement for freedom and a source of support for families waiting for their loved ones to return home.
