Out of dozens of ideas that are shaping the future of Ukrainian science, we selected those that combine innovation, passion for knowledge, and a commitment to unlocking the potential of our talented students and young researchers.
Meet the winners of the #DaVinciUkraine grant program by KSE Foundation! Thanks to funding from the STEM Talent Fund, this year they will:
β¨ Open modern STEM classrooms
π§ͺ Launch free offline science camps with hands-on experiments
π Organize olympiads and science festivals for school students
π Launch an online platform with interactive tasks to prepare for STEM olympiads
π©βπ« Train teachers to conduct lab experiments and work with cutting-edge equipment
π And make STEM accessible to all β regardless of school or region
9 organizations β 9 initiatives that will help thousands of Ukrainian students fall in love with science, dive into the world of technology, and prepare for competitions:
πΉ Cherkasy Physics and Mathematics Lyceum (FIMLI) β will host the national festival βSpring Science Daysβ, where thousands of students will explore the world through speedcubing, programming, math, geography, and creative projects.
πΉ Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University β will create a Center for Experimental Skills Development, where over 100 students and dozens of chemistry teachers from across Ukraine will dive into complex lab research and prepare for national and international olympiads.
πΉ Verkhniodniprovs’k Lyceum β2 β will build a modern STEM lab with 3D printers, laser engravers, and robotics equipment, where students will prepare for olympiads in natural sciences, technology, and mathematics, and teachers will be trained to use the new tools.
πΉ Oles Honchar Dnipro National University β will launch the regional STEM Chemistry Challenge olympiad and create a Young Researchers Club, where students will synthesize substances, model molecules in 3D, and explore the world through spectroscopy in a hybrid physical-digital lab space.
πΉ Tomorrow Charitable Foundation β will expand its free Online Physics School with new physics and programming courses led by top educators, helping students prepare for national/international olympiads and admission to leading universities in Ukraine and abroad. It will also develop learning materials for a summer camp in the UK for children of Defenders.
πΉ Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine β will launch the VPD-STEM Challenge Bank, an online platform with 300+ video tasks that make science accessible to everyone. STEM for all β anywhere, anytime.
πΉ Lviv Open Lab β will start a STEM Academy in physics, chemistry, biology, and mathematics, combining hands-on lab classes, mentoring by researchers, and olympiad preparation β both offline in Lviv and online across Ukraine.
πΉ UkrTeenScience β will run a Science Mentoring program for students passionate about chemistry and biology. Participants will master the scientific method, develop their own research, and prepare for olympiads β from regional to international.
πΉ Agency for Out-of-School Education (NGO) β will provide the Feodosiivska community with new STEM equipment for physics lessons, enabling 600+ students to conduct real experiments, understand complex topics, and perform better in olympiads.
Thank you to all the applicants and congratulations to the winners! Together, we are building a new culture of STEM in Ukraine!
