The Talents for Ukraine grant program, initiated by the KSE Foundation, continues to discover talented Ukrainians. This week, a medical physicist, a musician, and a Wikipedian have joined the ranks of the KSE150 winners.

🌟 Ruslan Zelinskyi – a medical physicist, co-founder, and first president of the NGO “Ukrainian Association of Medical Physicists.” Ruslan specializes in cancer treatment through radiation therapy. He also co-founded the volunteer community Help Ukraine Group, which supports the development of radiation oncology and medical physics in Ukraine by organizing training courses and international internships for specialists. Ruslan is working on a project that uses 3D printing in radiation therapy to improve treatment quality for skin cancer, postoperative scars, and other superficial lesions.

“You never know how any of your actions might influence your life path. So just act—be proactive,” says Ruslan.

🌟 Pavlo Hots – a musician, songwriter, and co-founder of the Galician-Donbas band NAZVA. The band has contributed to performances about the Executed Renaissance, the works of Serhiy Paradzhanov, and the Lviv underground, as well as created music for Ukrainian films like The Phenomenon of Ivasyuk, The House of the Word: An Endless Romance, and the animated film At the Edge of Worlds. In 2023, NAZVA became a finalist in Ukraine’s National Selection for Eurovision 2024. Pavlo and his team are currently working on the reflective-documentary album Parostok, which explores Ukrainians’ ongoing struggles with self-identity.

“I don’t believe in inspiration; there’s only constant work on oneself,” says Pavlo.

🌟 Vira Motorko – a Wikipedian, administrator of Ukrainian Wikipedia, and recipient of the 2024 Wikimedian of the Year award in the Functionary of the Year category. Vira joined Wikipedia 15 years ago, initially writing articles on the coats of arms and flags of Ukraine’s regions. She later joined the NGO “Wikimedia Ukraine,” where she worked on the “Wiki Loves Monuments” project. In 2023, Vira was granted administrator rights for Ukrainian Wikipedia. Besides developing the project, she hosts webinars and training sessions to help newcomers become skilled Wikipedia contributors.

“Efforts put into new connections yield the most significant results, because one person alone cannot achieve everything,” comments Vira.
