Over two months, the team from the “Unity of Women” Charitable Foundation conducted evacuation missions across the coastal areas of Kherson Oblast. Supported by a grant from the KSE Foundation, volunteers carried out 121 runs and brought 353 people out of the frontline danger zone.

The “Unity of Women” Charitable Foundation evacuates residents from the coastal communities of Kherson Oblast. Enemy forces shell the region relentlessly, making it extremely dangerous to stay. Escaping in private vehicles is virtually impossible, as FPV drones actively target civilian transport.

For three years, the foundation’s volunteers have been evacuating families with children, the elderly, people with disabilities, and anyone unable to flee on their own. In addition to saving lives, volunteers also retrieve the bodies of the fallen to return them to their families.

Impact of the Evacuation Missions

With financial support from the KSE Foundation, the team operated continuously for two months across Kherson and neighboring settlements along the Dnipro River. During this period, volunteers completed 121 runs, evacuating:

  • 353 people
  • 31 fallen (returned to their families)
  • 74 animals

A Story of Rescue

Volunteers successfully evacuated a family from the village of Dariivka. The mother has mobility impairments, and one of her three sons has a visual disability. Escaping active shelling on their own was an impossible task.

Volunteers from “Unity of Women” evacuated the family to safety just in time. Only a few days later, Dariivka came under heavy enemy bombardment. Thanks to the prompt action of the volunteers, the family escaped danger and has since settled in Odesa Oblast.

Sustaining Life-Saving Missions

Maintaining continuous evacuation operations requires stable funding. The grant from the KSE Foundation covered the primary operational expenses for the “Unity of Women” Charitable Foundation over two months of intensive work. First and foremost, this included fuel and essential vehicle repairs, as transport breaks down rapidly due to treacherous routes and harsh conditions.

KSE Foundation works daily to support people and the development of an innovative Ukraine through education, thanks to contributors and partners.
