Over three months, Save Ukraine—one of the largest non-profits evacuating residents from frontline areas—rescued 490 civilians from active bombardment with support from the KSE Foundation. Those brought to safety include children, seniors, and residents with limited mobility across six frontline regions.
Save Ukraine specializes in end-to-end support for frontline communities, providing everything from evacuation, transport, and housing to social casework and long-term integration into new communities. The foundation pays special attention to evacuating people with limited mobility and individuals with disabilities who cannot leave on their own.
Impact of the Grant
Thanks to grant funding from the KSE Foundation, Save Ukraine carried out 45 evacuation missions in communities all along the front line, bringing 490 civilians to safety:
- 149 children
- 217 seniors
- 98 people with limited mobility
- 24 individuals with disabilities
Grant support from the KSE Foundation gave frontline residents in urgent need of evacuation the chance to escape constant shelling and build a new future.
Evacuation Story
The Save Ukraine team evacuated Svitlana, who was pregnant, along with her 16-year-old son, Stanislav, from the frontline city of Sloviansk. Relentless shelling constantly put their lives at risk, and Svitlana was unable to access essential prenatal care.
The foundation provided the family with shelter in the Kyiv region, along with humanitarian, medical, and psychological support. Today, Svitlana and Stanislav have successfully settled into their new surroundings and plan to stay, with Save Ukraine’s team continuing to support them every step of the way.
Sustaining Life-Saving Missions
Even as strikes on frontline communities intensify, Save Ukraine stands ready to scale up its evacuation operations. However, this is only possible with sustained donor backing. Partnerships like the one with the KSE Foundation are what make it possible to pull people out of harm’s way every day and support them all the way through to full integration.
