Talents for Ukraine by the KSE Foundation focuses on talented Ukrainians whose daily professional work is already creating a long-term impact on the country’s development. Among this week’s winners are a musician who uses music as a tool to support people with traumatic experiences, a research mathematician advancing STEM education, and a scientist working in mathematical modeling and complex analysis.

Kateryna Kudasheva is a musician and head of the NGO «Sol-Diyez.» She combines artistic, educational, and social work, focusing on music as a tool for support and recovery. For the past three years, she has been conducting psychosocial support sessions through music in shelters, hospitals, boarding schools, and schools across the Zakarpattia region, working with children and adults who have experienced trauma. She is the author of the methodological guide «Music Therapy in Work with Children,» which is used in educational and psychological institutions. Kateryna also conducts trainings for teachers and psychologists, develops music therapy practices, and implements them in local communities.

“Life is constant movement, and in this process, I love seeking happiness and finding meaning,” Kateryna notes.

Lesia Baranovska is a Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, and a specialist in applied mathematics and the theory of differential games. She is the author of more than 180 scientific publications and 9 collective monographs. Lesia has been a fellow of international research programs in Germany and a participant in international scientific projects. She works in the field of optimal control of dynamical systems and mathematical modeling using methods of artificial intelligence. She is the founder and teacher of the «Game Theory» club, supervises student research projects, and promotes STEM education in Ukraine.

“I feel happy when I manage to solve a difficult problem, and I enjoy sharing the joy of others’ success,” Lesia comments.

Iryna Denega is a research mathematician and a senior researcher at the Institute of Mathematics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. She specializes in problems of extremal partitioning of the complex plane and develops new methods in complex analysis and function theory. Her work has been published in the Journal of Mathematical Sciencesand is cited by international researchers. Iryna’s research combines deep theoretical insights with practical applications, ranging from algorithm optimization and resource allocation to the mathematical modeling of physical and engineering problems, contributing to the advancement of fundamental science in Ukraine.

“Courage is allowing yourself to pursue what most consider too difficult or too dull,” Iryna emphasizes.
